Ali Alizadeh was born in Iran in 1976, two years before the Islamic revolution that toppled the Shah of Iran. His family migrated from oppressive, war-torn Iran to Australia when Ali was fourteen.

Jessica Wilkinson from RMIT university and Ali Alizadeh from Monash university are two of six poets who will carry out the project.
