Sarah Burton, who just dressed Elle Fanning and Timothée Chalamet for the Oscars, is bringing her expertise and empathy to her first collection for Givenchy.

Elle Fanning has hit the 2025 Oscars red carpet. While the actress did not secure an individual nomination for her role in A Complete Unknown, the film is nominated for Best Picture tonight. Fanning’s performance in the Bob Dylan biopic has received significant praise though,

“I absolutely love this dress,” Fanning told E News on the red carpet. “It’s actually very special. Sarah Burton, who was the designer for Alexander McQueen for a while, is now the designer for Givenchy, but she hasn’t shown a collection yet. So I get to wear...the first Sarah Burton design as designer of Givenchy.”

It could be a toy swan wrapped around your neck (think Björk), a loin cloth and mohawk (hello, Cher), or even a stylist pulling a runway look from the archives.
