I’m not excited about Bill Belichick as coach for UNC. In the best of scenarios, the Tar Heels will get him for a couple of seasons to establish itself as a player in college football before having to go through this song and dance again.

Washington Huskies defensive coordinator Steve Belichick is set to join his father, North Carolina Tar Heels coach Bill Belichick, in Chapel Hill. The move was confirmed on Sunday by Matt Zenitz of CBS Sports and 247 Sports. The younger Belichick will join North Carolina’s staff after Washington’s bowl game against Louisville on Christmas Eve.

Not only is Bill Belichick entering a world he’s never been in in an official capacity, but his contract is unlike most others in the sport.
