The U.S. Senate recently voted to proceed with the Social Security Fairness Act, a bipartisan bill that could expand Social Security benefits for nearly 3 million Americans. The bill passed in the House of Representatives in November and is now on its way to President Biden's desk.

Last night, the Senate passed our Social Security Fairness Act. This means teachers, firefighters, police officers, and other public servants in AZ will get the Social Security benefits they earned – a clear win for families across our state.

Mick McHale said the bill would restore benefits to about 3 million former teachers, police and firefighters, and civil servants who also receive pension payments.
