Remains of Michigan homicide victim found in 1986 identified
MONROE COUNTY, MI – Officials have identified a homicide victim whose remains were found in a wooded area in Monroe County in 1986. The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office said Thursday the victim was identified as Shaun Daniel Brauner of Detroit. His remains were found on Oct. 17, 1986 in a wooded lot on Lewis Avenue in Ida.

On October 17, 1986, Monroe County Sheriff’s Detectives were alerted by a citizen of possible skeletal remains in a wooded lot on Lewis Ave. in Ida, Michigan. Through extensive DNA testing, they were able to identify the victim as Shaun Daniel Brauner of Detroit, who had been missing since June of 1986.
