A mandatory evacuation order was issued Tuesday afternoon after a new brush fire, named the "Friars Fire," broke out near Fashion Valley Mall in San Diego.

Fire crews will remain in the area through the evening to mop up any hot spots as evacuation orders were lifted at 4 p.m. Tuesday.

A brush fire was reported in Mission Valley near Fashion Valley Mall amid a red flag warning. The fire was reported at around noon on the 7000 block of Friars Road. San Diego Fire said they have 49 personnel fighting the fire.
