Measurable snow is likely to begin for some Sunday afternoon and continue through the night into Monday morning, with the heaviest snow occurring overnight. Areas under a Winter Storm Warning have an increased risk of sleet and freezing rain in southern Ohio, with some ice accumulations in the southern-most counties.

The National Weather Service in Wilmington has issued a winter storm warning for Fairfield, Pickaway and more than two dozen other southern and western Ohio counties beginning at 10 a.m. The warning is in effect to midnight Monday as the region expects to be hit with 5 to 9 inches of snow,

In advance of the storm, many warming centers in and near Columbus are opening their doors to those looking for shelter from the cold.
