More northern U.S. states are expected to see aurora borealis Monday night as an incoming geomagnetic storm is expected to affect Earth’s magnetic field, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

The northern lights may be visible across night sky in parts of Wisconsin on Monday and Tuesday, according to the NOAA's Space Weather Prediction Center. The SWPC's forecast indicates that phenomena could be visible as far south as central Wisconsin.

Americans in more than a dozen northern U.S. states may be able to catch a glimpse of the northern lights Sunday evening, as the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration projects the aurora borealis will be brighter than usual.
