Despite remaining one of the most exciting and talented players in Major League Baseball, the last half-decade of Los Angeles Angels outfielder Mike Trout's career has been less about what he's done on the field than how often he has been off it.

▪ Is Mike Trout still a star player? At 33, Trout received MVP votes once in the last four seasons and hasn’t driven in 100 runs since 2019. He has played only 111 games the last two seasons — the last coming on April 29, 2024. Going back four years he has played 266 of a possible 648 games.

Trout, 33, has been injured for much of the past four years and says he is on board with moving from center field to right this season with the hope that it will keep him on the field.
