One of college athletics most popular athletes is glad she’s back for her fifth and final year of eligibility. LSU gymnast Olivia Dunne had strong performances on the balance beam and floor on Friday.

Fifth-year senior gymnast Livvy Dunne and her Tigers teammates defeated the Iowa State Cyclones 197.300 to 194.100 in front of a record crowd of 12,324 fans as the team raised its 2024 banner. Dunne competed in two events, the balance beam and floor exercise, posting 9.85 and 9.90, respectively.

Livvy Dunne sparkled during LSU gymnastic’s season-opener on Friday against the Iowa State Cyclones. The gymnast, who is currently in her fifth year as an LSU athlete graduate student after receiving her degree last month,

Olympian Aleah Finnegan won the All-Around title with a score of 39.725, while sensational freshman Kailin Chio secured second place with a total score of 39.575. LSU will next compete on Saturday, January 13th in Oklahoma City. The Sprouts Farmers Market Collegiate Quad will also feature Utah, Cal, and the #1 ranked Oklahoma.

One of the fans in attendance was Pittsburgh Pirates star pitcher Paul Skenes. The reigning National League Rookie of the Year was in attendance to watch his girlfriend, Livvy Dunne, kick off her fifth and final season at LSU.
