The IMD has predicted cold day to severe cold day conditions in parts of Himachal Pradesh on December 27 and 28, along with thunderstorms in Delhi and other regions

Tabo in the Lahaul and Spiti district was the coldest place in Himachal Pradesh, recording a night temperature of minus 10.6 degrees Celsius.

According to the IMD, a western disturbance is likely to interact with lower-level easterly winds, resulting in scattered to fairly widespread rainfall and snowfall over the western Himalayan region and intense cold waves in northern states.

The IMD has forecast a further drop in temperatures across the Delhi-NCR, Punjab, Haryana, and Rajasthan regions over the next two days. Residents in the affected regions have been advised to prepare for colder conditions as the mercury dips further.

Delhi faced lightning, rain, and cold waves, with temperatures dipping to 8 degrees Celsius. Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand experienced heavy snow and rainfall, causing roadblocks and difficult conditions.

An 'orange' warning was issued in Delhi after rain lashed several parts of the national capital and adjoining areas on Friday. The rain is expected to continue in the city.

Temperature in Delhi stood at 13 degree Celsius at 7:23am as the weather department forecast heavy rain and strong winds for December 27th and 28th.

Coldwave conditions are likely in isolated pockets of Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, and Ladakh on various days.
