Snowfall rates between one and three inches per hour are possible through mid-morning. There will be a break from late morning through early afternoon with intermittent light snow, sleet, or freezing drizzle. A second round of snow is expected late this afternoon and evening before the precipitation ends tonight.

Schools in several states will remain closed on Wednesday after a winter storm brought over a foot of snow in some areas.
