Bumble's Whitney Wolfe Herd, one of tech's most influential women, is returning to the helm of the dating app.

Bumble founder and executive chair Whitney Wolfe Herd, who stepped down as CEO at the beginning of 2024, is returning to the post in mid-March. Former Slack CEO Lidiane Jones, who succeeded Herd, has resigned for “personal reasons” and will remain in the role until Wolfe Herd takes over.

(Reuters) -Dating app operator Bumble said on Friday its founder and executive chair, Whitney Wolfe Herd, will become the chief executive of the company from mid-March after Lidiane Jones resigned as CEO.

Whitney Wolfe Herd founded dating and networking app Bumble Inc. in 2014 and led it as CEO for about a decade before stepping away from the role in early 2024. Little more than a year later, however, she's planning to return to her company as CEO in March.
