Basil Powell, a corrections deputy with the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office, died Feb. 10 in what detectives called an 'ambush' outside his house.

Funeral arrangements have been made for Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office deputy Basil Powell who was shot and killed in a targeted attack outside his home in Belle Glade Feb. 10. A public viewing will be held for Powell on Friday, Feb. 21 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Camel Funeral Hone, located at 725 South Main Street in Belle Glade.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office identified the deputy as Basil Powell, 39, who had worked at the West Corrections Center for three years.

The public will be able to pay their respects to a Palm Beach County Sheriff's Corrections Deputy who was murdered while arriving to his home in Belle Glade earlier this month.
