A wonderful exhibition of Skagen artists and history. The museum itself is well arranged to be easily viewed and its gift shop offers affordable memories to take away.Full review by tlw883

Hi Nisha, I paid for all three attractions that Niels J above mentions. Both the Anchers Hus and Drachmans Hus are "must see" if you have the time. Anchor is very near to the main museum, and Drachman is at the other end of the Main Street but not a long walk. I forgot to mention in my review that the main museum has a statue at the front and I wondered why it was of Lenin and Trotsky, but the two were actually Michael Ancher and Paul Kroyer, the two pivotal artists, who uncannily resemble the two Russians.

Normally the Skagen museum exhibits works by artists with association with Skagen. The exhibition this year as well as containing works by traditional Skagen artists also have works of contemporary artists. Carl Larsson and Anders Zorn artworks were exhibited some years ago, they had visited Skagen. I'm not sure if there are any of they It works in the collection belonging to the museu. Also the museum is or has been expanded and when I was there last summer the work was still in progress. The exhibition was reduced somewhat but was still worth seeing. Hopefully the building work is over by the time you get there. All the best Eva K

I realize the museum is closed until May. I will be visiting in July, and need to know the entry price for a grant application. I have not been able to find this on the museum website. I'm sure it is there, I think I found it once, but can't find it again. Thanks. Betty
