The scenery is amazing and you hike and swim falls with crystal clear water. Our guide Dave, was great. He allowed us to move at our own pace and was so helpful! Would totally do this again! Full review by Mindy J

I’m in Jamaica on vacation and would love to go to this falls next week. My problem is keeping my blood sensor and hearing aids dry. I’m diabetic and have to take my sensor with me at all times, but it CAN’T get wet or it won’t function which could be a life or death situation for me! Can I keep it dry? Also, I wear hearing aids. Can I keep them dry? I could leave them in a locker, but then I won’t hear much at all.

Does anyone have tips on getting to Mayfield Falls from Negril,is there public transportation or shuttles? And also touring the area independently? Fairly capable hiker and explorer, comfortable in remote locations. Assuming trails are marked and the area is fairly populated being a tourist destination, so not worried about getting lost unless that is incorrect to assume?

You should hire a taxi for the day. Excursions can be booked at resorts but a car hire is more reasonable believe it or not. At least that was our experience last October. We used Stephen at Juju Tours who we met by word of mouth. In other words if you chat it up with a friendly local they can definitely recommend a good driver. Then you’re free to stop for photos, food and drink at your leisure. We paid $160 and we treated Stephen to lunch and a nice tip. The falls are great and well worth the trip! I’m missing an ACL and made the hike ok. Take care with glasses/sunglasses :) A side trip to Appleton Rum Distillery works out well too. The tour is interesting and there’s a lot of history there, both good and bad. Well worth it even if you don’t enjoy good rum :)
Q:
I wear glasses. Is it possible to do the walk and keep them on?
A:
Absolutely!!!!

We are staying in Negril mid February and are interested in seeing this attraction. Has anyone just gone by Taxi? There is 4 of us so it seems it might be more economical to take a taxi and the tour then 4 of us paying for tours. Looking for any recommendations for drivers!!! Thanks!!
A:
It is a fairly long drive from Negril. Make sure that you have a aolid agreement in place before the trip.
