I am an adult that has never skied a day in my life. Is it possible for me to ride beginner trails without going on the ski lifts?
A:
Yes, there are some surface lifts that don't require a lift ticket but unless you hike a little after every run, the rest of the beginner terrain is accessed by lifts.
Is there a mode of public transportation or shuttle from downtown Lake Placid? Thanks.

I'm not sure about a shuttle from Lake Placid, since I always take a car. The only shuttle at Whiteface that I know of is the on that takes you from Bear Den to the Main side.
