Lovely lake for kayaking, hiking, and camping but the boat traffic gets intense on summer weekends. I highly recommend going during the off season, when you can have the lake and trails to yourself. Full review by reneb759

Beautiful lake, not a lot of houses so the views are great. We were here in October so the leaves were so pretty. Did some fishing and just tooled around. Full review by RBonTheLake

Watauga Lake near Elizabethton, TN is beautiful, deep, wide, and clean. With the Blue Ridge Mts. as a backdrop, it is ideal for paddle boarding, kayaking, and fishing. We highly recommend this bea… Full review by JMBraswell

Not many restaurants around the Lake--------Have to go to Mtn. City for those 30 miles away....go to one of the Gemstone mines there. They also have better restaurants there and they have many outfitters there. Also visit Linville Falls and Grandfather Mtn. about 40 minutes away.
