Beautiful however it is very isolated. Took me around 2 hours to get there and there is not much. I will recommend you to get some water and snacks in Waiuku.Full review by Teresa A

The road is paved, lots of parking. You can park on the beach to the right at the end of the road as well. Parking at bottom car park, once you step out of your vehicle you are practically on the beach. Top car park, you will have a short walk over the dunes. Be prepared, this is a black sand beach ( iron sand) can be very hot in the summer. Surf life saving has just finished patrolling at Easter weekend, this beach can be a very rough west coast beach and rips are present. It is a very picturesque beach, rugged west coast scenery and great for walking. Go south. North is shorter and don’t venture past the head land on an incoming tide. Enjoy
