Hi We will be in the Banko area in the beginning of October. Can we go up by cable car? any suggestions for very short and easy hikes?
A:
Cable car from Bansko to Virhen should be open or alternatively you can drive there and hike from the cable car stop. Plenty of short hikes to mach whatever your abilities are..Enjoy your trip.

Yes in one way as there seemed to be a few others on the mountain. However, it really depends on your walking experience and personal skills and confidence. If you would be happy to climb given changeable weather then give it a go- you can always turn back or tag onto someone else. It is a mountain walk so until the top section you'd be fine following the coloured symbols. The top section is more a shearer convex that is very steep, so if you are happy stepping onto smaller rocks with a bit of a sense of exposure, particularly on the way down when it is harder to pick out a worn route, you'll be fine. Going up this section, it's harder to see the worn painted symbols and impossible to see them on the way down. On the positive side, you just pick a line up and you will reach the top and the opposite coming down:) This last section is only about 40 minutes anyway. So, yes, give it a go, pick your day ( weekends you'll always have others on the hill) and have fun:)
