In 1949 Roy Johnson opened his McHales Full Service Gas Station on the corner of NE 45th and Union Bay, later turning it into a Unocal station. Along with many service awards from the Lions Club, American Legion, Lutheran Child Services, Roy went on to be a 5-star dealer and Northwest Dealer of the Year. Roy always had a reputation as a fair and honest business owner. He is still active in many charity organizations. In 1977 Roy’s son, Jeff, began working at “the station” In 1979 Jeff went to Arizona Automotive Institute to study all aspects of automotive repair. After graduation I came home to work in the family business. In 1989 the business changed to a full service auto repair shop on the corner of 35th & 95th as Johnson’s Auto Repair. We will be celebrating our 60th year in business in 2009! Thank you for 60 Great Years.
