The South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority (SYMCA), formerly known as the Sheffield City Region (SCR), Chaired by Metro Mayor Dan Jarvis, is comprised of the city of Sheffield and the surrounding metropolitan towns of Barnsley, Doncaster and Rotherham. The official name change took place on 17 September 2021 and better reflects the geography of the combined authorities and the adoption of Passenger Transport across South Yorkshire.
