Speed is a city in Phillips County, Kansas, United States. As of the 2020 census, the population of the city was 37. A post office was opened in Speed in 1895, and remained in operation until being discontinued in 1964. The community was named for James Speed, United States Attorney General during the Lincoln and Johnson administrations.
