We visited on a very quiet day and also quite late in the afternoon so there were only a handful of visitors in the caves. I could imagine that it may get busy in the school holidays but I think you would be able to wait if they limit numbers in the cave. The people running the café and shop seem to be in charge of everything and were very pleasant and friendly. I'm sure they will be very helpful if you give them a ring.
