Great place to visit to learn more about the sad history of the area. It's free to enter the grounds but if you want to watch a 20 minute film & go inside the Memorial Church you have to pay a fee.Full review by Angel57
We are LeBlanc' s from Louisiana and my husband is a descendant of one of the families deported from Nova Scotia. We plan a visit to Grand Pre when our cruise ship is docked in Halifax on Sept. 1! Let us know your ideas for other places nearby and lunch spot.. Lois and Stan LeBlanc

it will be very moving for your husband and you to experience the history of the explusion there is a lovely picnic spot near the visitor centre and a good grocery store in town in wolfville there is a healthy food restaurant and a pub on the main street, and more expensive restaurants too
