Cheap and pleasantly uncrowded place to learn about life in the late 1700s. Several areas where you can picnic before or after your self-guided tour of the house. Full review by wrestlerUMCP

Was there originally a lake on the grounds?
A:
No. It sat on a plateau. They had the view of a river but no lake at the immediate property I believe.
