I heard that too and I was happy I ignored it as the people were very friendly and helpful! There were the odd tent set up at different parks but the grounds were clean! I have travelled all over Europe,Asia,USA,Costa Rica and Canada many times and have not been to any country that there weren't homeless people including New York! If you treat people with respect and are not all blingged out with expensive jewelry there should be no problem wherever you go! Happy travels and always be aware of your surroundings and be safe! I had a wonderful time there and I hope you do to!
