Hi, my wife and I are keen to visit the museum, leaving for a day trip from Lyon. Question is how is the best way to get from Lyon to Vienne for the day, we are hoping for train trips each way if possible.

This museum is IN Lyon, so no need to take a day trip. There is a roman museum in Vienne, St Romain-en-Gal, but this has its own Tripadvisor listing, and you might get a better response posting there. Otherwise, the French railway website is very good . Also, I found Uber very good and reasonably priced when I was in Lyon.
