Krnov is a town in Bruntál District in the Moravian-Silesian Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 23,000 inhabitants. Krnov is located about 21 kilometres northwest of Opava and 49 km northwest of Ostrava, in the historic region of Czech Silesia on the border with Poland. The town is situated at the confluence of the rivers Opava and Opavice.
