hi i am visiting Rabaul for a day only on a cruise ship arrive approx 8.00am 4th June 2015 and leaving that same day at approx 6.00pm the ship has planned tours but they are a bit basic and expensive, i was wondering if you had any one that does personalized tours for my wife and i, we lived in Lae for two years during the Independence time. i did a very quick fly in visit in 1973 whilst i was in the Army i still have a basic command of pigeon English and would like to have a bit more visit of the old Rabaul etc and of course the second world war relics. if you have anyone interested please contact me below. peter.

I used the tour from the ship,it covered the Kokopo area, Bita Paka cemetery, and a jap tunnel tour, but there were a lot of locals outside the wharf touting tours, for certain cheaper as well, but the Kokopo war museum is really a disappointment, the only stuff there is out in the open area in front of the building, no conservation , no background etc, nothing in the buildings, except some bullet casings and a large crate full of wrecked aircraft parts, the Jap barge tunnel was a huge area lit by one solitary 20w floro tube, the barges are a pile of rust with no conservation , TAKE A TORCH Cheeers
