A really fascinating place, well restored and ever so peaceful. The guide was amazingly knowledgeable and very friendly, the White House over the road was utterly charming too.Full review by Bungayman

If you have a car and can spend 6-8 hours on the island, then I would say it's definitely worth it. The 'must sees' in my opinion are the standing stones at Callanish and Uig beach. These are both on Lewis - Harris would be too far in one day. The blackhouse is really interesting and worth a visit if it's en route.

If you have time and are driving start at the 'Butt of Lewis' - oddly at the Top of Lewis and travel down the road exploring as you go! Enjoy
