Wedged between vacation homes, a state park, and a steel mill, Indiana Dunes is not a typical national park. Even so, the park protects unique habitats and offers a variety of recreational opportunit… Full review by phvi2617

I’ve long been curious about this park. We went out of our way about 90 minutes to visit on a Sunday night/Monday morning in October. We camped at the NP campground. We found a nice site upon arriva… Full review by Coldhere51

This is a very nice national park. The sand dunes are amazing, and Lake Michigan is beautiful. There are plenty of short trails, and you are able to experience all the different types of landscapes.… Full review by Hiker216

There are things to do at the water and along the beach. In addition the Progress of Century Homes along the shore is good to see as well as the Mt Baldy. With driving you can easily do all this within 2 hours. We hiked most of the trails and were able to do everything within 5 hours.
We plan to spend 4 hours in the park in June 2020.. We have already decided to do the 3 dunes challenge and bicycle for the rest of the time. Want to avoid crowds and beaches due to Covid-19. Please suggest: 1) ideal parking lot 2) paved biking trails. Thank you.

As for the 3 dune challenge, it is not in the national park, but the state park. It took us 2+ hours on the 3DC.

Did not appear to me that anything was wheelchair accessible ... and there's not much to see. We were disappointed that there was no parking along a drive (there is no such drive) to enjoy the lake view. Consider other lake access (like Porter Beach) located outside the state park in the Indiana Dunes National Park (formerly National Lakeshore). That access is free, the state park is not. We're Indiana residents and it's all confusing to us. I'd advise studying options online before you go.
