I can't give you any better advice than toddk13 gave you. But, if you are adamant about staying downtown, keep in mind the closest hotel is still about a mile away. And yes, start booking now. I have to correct todd about one thing, the attendance is well over a million every year. Not only from the US, but all over the world. Try looking at Kayak, or Trivago. as they compare rates of a large number of booking sites, and the big chain hotels. Then, when you've got a place(s) in mind, consider calling the hotel(s) you are interested in directly. Many times they will give you an even better rate, as that way they don't have to pay a commission to the website, & will pass the savings on to you. But either way, welcome to Milwaukee, & enjoy your stay. Summerfest is the largest music festival in the US.
