A very large site. You can drive along the ruins for a 6.5km. Lots to see castle ruins, sphinx, temple, tombs, etc. If you’re interested in the history, recommend you visit the place with a guide.Full review by burakk819

Where do you suggest flying into to visit Hattusa? Ankara airport or Merzifon? Also how long does it take to see these two sites? Is it better to stay there or stay in a major city in the area and travel to Hattusa in morning and leave at night?

The distance would be more or less the same but Ankara would be better i would say, You can stay in Ankara the night and rent a car to the sites its better that way as the sites are in a very remote area with no other ways to access them, i stayed in Corum and took a car to the sites, a half a day is good enough and there are a couple of museums as well in that vicinity which are worht a visit so i would say go in the morning and leave around evening would be a good plan.
