The openness of the gorge was fun for all ages. And the park around the Gorge was very pretty. We didn't allocate enough time for the area - recommend at least 2 hours. Full review by KSTravers

We were driving across Iowa and needed a place to stop for a bit, so we stopped here. Didn't see any fossils but took a nice walk along the trail at Coralville Lake Full review by PatR692

Free family fun! Great opportunity to climb rocks and look for fossils. My kids are climbers and love to jump over creeks and from rock to rock. Full review by Amy G
It is a protected area and against the law to remove fossils from the site. There are many signs posted stating removal of fossils is strictly prohibited and if caught would be fined $500. …
It is a protected area and against the law to remove fossils from the site. There are many signs posted stating removal of fossils is strictly prohibited and if caught would be fined $500. However, when you are there you will find fossils with every footstep and photos are allowed. Definitely go if you have the chance. It’s incredible!!!
