Bonyhád is a town in Tolna County in Southwestern Hungary. The area around Bonyhád has been inhabited since ancient times, primarily by Celts. The modern town can trace its history back to 14th century. The town was briefly uninhabited during the Ottoman occupation. A gothic church once stood in the town, but it was destroyed by Ottoman forces in 1542.
