Ajay Patel, MD is a board-certified general surgeon, vascular surgeon and bariatric medicine physician who has been in practice since 1999. He was valedictorian of his class at Brandon Senior High School in Brandon, Fla., and earned his Bachelor of Science degree with honors at the University of Miami in Coral Gables. He graduated from the University of Miami School of Medicine and then undertook his general surgery residency at Greenville Memorial Hospital in Greenville, S.C., where he earned the Joseph C McAlhany Award for Resident of the Year three consecutive years and completed his tenure as Academic Chief Resident.
