I am a Consultant Cardiologist in Essex. I see patient from across Essex and Suffolk. My private practice is at the Oaks, Colchester. My NHS work is at both Colchester Hospital and The Essex Cardiothoracic Centre. I was appointed as Consultant Cardiologist in Colchester Hospital in 2006. On appointment, I took the clinical lead in heart failure, echocardiography and hypertension. In April 2010, I became the lead cardiologist for Colchester Hospital. I see patients with problems covering the whole spectrum of adult cardiology (e.g., chest pain, heart failure, high blood pressure, valvular heart disease, blackouts and palpitations). Since I am dual accredited in Cardiology and General Internal Medicine, I can offer a more holistic review than just concentrating on the heart. I am passionate about improving patient safety and constantly look to improve both my practice and the standards of care of my department – for instance by introducing safety checklists.
